Approved TDAA JudgesFull FledgedJudges are full-fledged who have completed a TDAA Judges clinic and have passed the testing, or have been grandfathered based on experience in another venue.
ProvisionalProvisional judges were grandfathered into the TDAA based on their experience in other venues. Do not contact provisional judges for assignment unless you confer first with the TDAA and have explored other options for judges. Provisional judges are qualified to act as Affiliate judges upon permission of the TDAA.
Club AffiliateClub Affiliate Judges may be hired to judge at their own club or in their own area (travel not required). Judges with (P) are Club Aflliliate, but provisional. That means they may judge sanctioned matches will be required to attend a TDAA judging clinic within two years to earn more advanced TDAA sanction.
Policy for Engaging JudgesYou may contact the judge before applying for the TDAA sanctioned event to ensure that the judge is available on the dates of the event. That will give you the flexibility to change the date of your event, if you want that judge, or pick another judge. A judge should be paid expenses and a reasonable fee for services. The standard for that fee is typically $1.00 for each dog judged.
